A few things to know before joining…

CrossFit Lynchburg is for anyone. All types of people join our gym, some that haven’t exercised in months or years, others that are very fit and have been exercising regularly.

Our programming is scalable.  What this means is that a person that hasn’t exercised in a long time may be exercising right next to someone that is very advanced.  Our coaches know how to “scale” the work so that it is doable for anyone.  Example: The advanced athlete may be using a large load/weight for a higher/advanced rep scheme.  The new member that is not in as good of shape may have a piece of PVC pipe that weighs nearly nothing, and do a rep scheme that is much lower.

If you are new to CrossFit, we offer a class that is a scaled back version of our regular CrossFit class – similar, but with lighter weights, less volume, and more basic movements.  It is called "Fundamentals" and if you are new to CrossFit, this is the class you need to try first.  (We offer this class Tuesdays & Thursdays at 8:30am and 6:30pm).  We require those new to CrossFit to attend a minimum of four Fundamentals classes before joining regular CrossFit class.

If you have done CrossFit before, please email us and let us know your experience, where you trained, for how long, etc so we can get you in the right class – info@crossfitlynchburg.com 

We believe in the philosophy that one should move well before moving often.  What this means is that technique trumps work volume. Our coaches will teach you how to do the exercises we do at CrossFit Lynchburg, and then prescribe the right amount of volume to help you make progress.

Generally speaking, the people that come to CrossFit Lynchburg get in the best shape of their life.  It doesn’t matter the age or fitness level when they first start, if you come consistently you will build the best endurance, strength and mobility you have ever had.

Our coaches are EXCELLENT.  They are all CrossFit Certified Coaches that understand movement and the exercises commonly done at CrossFit gyms.  They have the experience to help the inexperienced and advanced athlete progress to meet their individual goals.

What We Do…

At CrossFit Lynchburg, we coach functional movement using CrossFit methodology in a small group setting.  We take a combination of movements ranging from gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing, biking and more in workouts that are constantly varied.  We do them in classes that average 10-15 members per class.  The workouts are FUN and we have found that doing them in a community setting drives people to do their best, which in turn breeds progress.

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a fitness program designed around the things you do in the real world. Every day, you bend down and pick things up, you put things over your head, you squat down, you stand up, you run after your kids or jump over a puddle. CrossFit prepares you for all that and then some, by performing those exact movements in our workouts. We use exercises from olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, and track and field, and the programs are always varied, so your body is always adapting, getting stronger, faster, and better conditioned.
